About

Dawnee Dodson spent her childhood in Colorado, and her life changed forever when her dad bought her a beat up 35mm Minolta at the town pawn lieca-smallshop. It wasn’t long before Dawnee had a portfolio in hand and a scholarship to the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

She earned her BFA in Film, and liked school so much she got an MFA in Film at the University of Utah. Having maxed out on her formal film education, Dawnee began her informal training at The Walt Disney Company, Dimension Films, and Warner Bros. After a stint in Hollywood, and a gig teaching film at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Dawnee headed west to her adoptive hometown of Seattle, WA where she reinvented herself as sweetie films.
